Sterling Energy Group of Companies is organizing the first-ever railway delivery of Jet A-1, an internationally recognized standard aviation fuel, from the People's Republic of China (PRC) to Kazakhstan. The delivery is being carried out as part of long-term cooperation with PetroChina International, with the participation of railway operators from both countries and the Dostyk Refinery terminal. The project is aimed at enhancing the reliability of aviation fuel supplies and developing Kazakhstan’s transport and logistics potential.

For the First Time in Kazakhstan, an Aircraft Was Refueled with Jet A-1 Fuel
On May 24, 2026, Sterling Energy became the first company in Kazakhstan to refuel an aircraft with Jet A-1 aviation fuel at Turkistan Airport. The fuel was supplied directly from PetroChina Dushanzi Petrochemical Company as part of international cooperation between Kazakhstan and China
Representatives of Sterling Energy noted that the introduction of Jet A-1 is not only a commercial initiative but also a strategic contribution to the development of Kazakhstan’s civil aviation industry.

The Mercury Energy Laboratory has obtained Certificate No. 20/26 dated June 16, 2026, authorizing it to perform sampling and quality control testing of TS-1, RT, and Jet A-1 aviation fuels.
Currently, the laboratory is capable of conducting all analyses required for aircraft fueling operations ("into-wing" release), including 12 types of tests for TS-1, RT, and Jet A-1 fuels. These tests include determination of actual gum content, mechanical impurities, distillation characteristics, flash point, electrical conductivity, freezing point and crystallization onset temperature, density, water-soluble acids and alkalis content, acidity, viscosity, water content and visual contamination assessment, as well as water reaction testing.

Talgat Tagibergenovich holds the position of Chief Engineer, he is a specialist in the field of aviation fuel supply with more than 20 years of experience. His professional path includes the management of fuel supply complexes at the largest airports of Kazakhstan, such as Atyrau, Aktobe and Astana.
Over the years of work in the industry, Talgat Tagibergenovich has acquired unique experience in organizing fuel supply for civil aviation, ensuring uninterrupted supplies of aviation fuel, quality control and compliance with international standards in the field of aircraft refueling. Talgat Tagibergenovich regularly improves his qualifications by undergoing various trainings, including a seminar on the operation of aviation fuel, organized jointly with JIG inspectors and SKYHANSA on December 9, 2024 in Astana. His merits were noted at the state level - Talgat Tagibergenovich was awarded the honorary title of "Kurmetti Aviator", which confirms his significant contribution to the development of the country's aviation industry.

Vera Alekseevna has 20 years of experience in the aviation fuel industry. Worked as the head of the laboratory at Astana International Airport. Has significant experience in civil aviation. Vera Alekseevna is a member of the Republican Commission on Aviation Fuel. Vera Alekseevna Shashkova regularly improves her qualifications by undergoing various trainings, including a seminar on the operation of aviation fuel, organized jointly with JIG inspectors and SKYHANSA on December 9, 2024 in Astana.
